Korach “Korah” Pt 4: Numbers 19:9 (Jewish)/16:44 (Gentile) – 15:16 (Jewish)/16:50 (Gentile)
The people rebel, and Aaron (Aharon) stands in the gap for them. The people accused Moshe of killing the rebels, and so took on the rebellion for themselves. So God (Yahveh) revealed His presence and glory, and disciplined them with a plague.
But Aharon burned incense (prayer), and “stood between the dead and the living” and ended the plague. The world is in rebellion against Yahveh, but we who know, love, are redeemed by, and follow Yeshua are a Kingdom of priests, and we are called to proclaim Him and pray for the rebels – even and especially those who taunt and belittle us – to move them from dead in the world to alive in the Spirit. To act with Yahveh to bring the lost to life is the greatest victory.
Let us act as Aharon did, “Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.” (1 Peter 3:9) And be a blessing!
