God Will Finish the Fight

Chukat “Regulation (wisdom) (from the Torah/Instructions to the goal) Pt. 7: Numbers 21:21 – 22:1

God (Yahveh) may not choose to start a fight, but He will finish it. The children of Israel did not seek a fight on the east side of the Jordan, but they had to fight the Amorites (Emori) and Bashan. And in those fights, Yahveh gave them the lands of their attackers, even the lands previously taken from Moav.
Yahveh calls us to seek peace with those who will receive it (unless He has another purpose), but He will fight for us and give us victory if we trust and are faithful. As well, Israel had their “tantrums of doubt” dealt with, just in time to be delivered from war.
We need to keep ourselves ready to stand firm with Yahveh, but if He does correct us, know that it may be to prepare us for a serious challenge, and accept His correction eagerly, even with expectation. The joy of victory is well worth any pain of correction.
