Korach “Korah” Pt. 1: Numbers 16:1-13
Korach wanted to be the high priest; the sons of Reuven wanted to be leaders. They said that Moses (Moshe) and Aaron (Aharon) “took too much on themselves” by acting as leaders. Moshe replied, “Who is Aharon, that you complain about him?” Truly, who is anybody compared to Yahveh?
It was Yahveh, not Moshe and Aharon, that they rebelled against, for they had been set in their place by Yahveh. The rebels did not want to serve, but be served, to have power, to have status. But it is Yahveh who gives each of us our lives, our purposes, our tasks, and out of love for our Father and obedience to our Lord.
Since we were all bought at a price, we must be humble in serving Him, in reaching out to the lost He wishes to draw to Himself, to lift up our brothers and sisters in Messiah Yeshua. He has a plan. Let us humbly and joyfully be part of it.
